The composite detachable cord attaches the user harness to the wishbone of a sail-board, comprising inextensible (2) and extensible (5) lengths attaching to the harness and the aft of the wishbone respectively. The cord passes round movable return gullies (7) mounted on the wishbone and through a combined handle (4) and locking device. The handle is also mounted on the wishbone, prevents cord displacement when it is gripped by the user, and permits cord displacement when released.
