The heat exchanger is used with flows of hot and cold gas. It has a continuous heat exchanging surface (1) in a casing (2) with inlets (11) and outlets (13) for both types of flow. The surface consists of parallel assemblies of successive folds of material (18). The exchanger surface is made from a sheet unrolled and cut to the length of the generator of the folds. It can consist of two parts, placed end to end. The various parts of the exchanger can be of different types and thicknesses of material, with cement fixing.
