Duct for evacuating smoke from building - incorporates air deflector which prevents build up of eddies in main duct

The ventilation duct for buildings is used to evacuate smoke or hot gas in the event of a fire. It comprises an air deflector (12) immediately next to the main duct (1). A shutter (2) can move on guides (3) between a closed position in which it covers the duct and an open position in which it leaves the duct open. The air deflector prevents the build up of eddies in the opening of the duct, which would otherwise slow down the evacuation of the smoke.
