Electric vehicle for pruning fruit trees - uses transversely mobile trolley which carries an operator cage on mast to permit access to fruit trees

The vehicle has a platform fixed horizontally above a chassis mounted on driven wheels and steerable support wheels. A cage for the operator is mounted on a mast fixed to a chariot which is transversely mobile across the platform. The driven wheels and the transversely mobile chariot are driven by electric motors, which are supplied through a cable rolled on a drum. The axle of the drum has a collector to connect the cable ends to the motors. Idler wheels are provided to guide the cable during winding and a brake is fitted to the drum. The chariot is moved across the platform by a screw and is carried on two rails placed below the platform, which has a slot in its surface to allow passage of the mast.
