The attachment for adapting an ordinary chair into a rocking chair consists of sections (9) making up a rocker for resting on the ground which are locked onto the X shaped legs of the chair. The sections are joined by a crosspiece (10) to which is linked at least one arm (12) which can be hooked onto the middle bar (5) of the seat. The back end of each rocker (9) has a notch (13) into which fits a horizontal crosspiece (15) joining the back legs (2b) of the chair, the front legs (2a) of which rest on the front of the rockers.
