Vane impeller for centrifugal fan - has cantilevered vanes with voids in hub between for weight reduction

The impeller has a hub (2) in the centre of a plastics flange (1). The impeller vanes (3) are curved and cantilevered around the periphery of the flange, to form a centrifugal impeller. The flange material (4) between the vanes is removed. The result of removing this material is to reduce the weight of the impeller saving material in the moulding. It can be driven at a slower speed for a given duty.
