The crimp connector is designed to fit on the end of a cable and to accept a male plug connection at the other end, joining it either in line or at right angles. The connector is formed from a single tube (4), end (1) of which has been split to form two crimp wings (3) which are crushed onto the bared end of the wire. At the other end, a section is cut out and shaped to take the snub-nosed of the male connector. The top section of the tube (19) may be removed, the bottom of the tube is then stamped into a flattened shape (11) and four bosses (20) are formed in the side walls of the tube at this point. The male connector (6) has a ball-end (5) which clicks into position past the bosses at right angles to the tube axis. When inserted longitudinally, the ball-end penetrates beyond the opened section of the tube and is held on the innermost pair of bosses.
