Display cabinet for valuables in shop window - has additional shutters at rear with rapid closing facility to protect front and rear from attack

The display includes the window pane itself and a lintel extending up above it. The display cabinet is supported on a frame and has fixed walls, base and ceiling and panels. Above the ceiling panel there is a cover housing motors etc. The panels are made of steel making attack difficult. A grill encloses a light housing above it at the top of the cabinet. The front of the display cabinet is further protected by a pair of sliding metal shutters, one of which may be withdrawn above the window while the other may draw back into a space below the window. A stop determines the height to which this may be drawn. Similar metal shutters protect the back of the cabinet. The shutters are actuated either manually or automatically e.g. by detection of glass breakage.
