The music unit uses an eight track tape in which music provided by eight individual musicians may be recorded. Each musician plays in an individual cabin and the tracks are recorded simultaneously. The tape or cassette is then sold to discotheques under contract each week. Since each instrument is recorded on a separate track, and replayed to a separate speaker, the music from them does not mix unduly, and the individual players can be clearly identified. The position of the loudspeakers corresponds to the required relative positions of the players in the group. Pref. dummies, representing the respective musicians, are provided each appropriately dressed and carrying a musical instrument.
