Contactor controller for automatic switching during off-peak hours - uses sensor to drive electronic circuit which delays connection of load to supply in proportion to its temp.
An electronic controller (8) accepts data from a temp. transducer (7) associated with the appts (12) to determine the delay from the period when off-peak supply becomes available to the switching of the load onto the supply, with a higher temp. leading to a greater delay. The supply for the electronic circuit is derived from the mains supply voltage. This is achieved by a time sharing of both functions. The changeover from one function to the other is achieved through the action of two auxiliary contacts controlled by a delayed contactor. The arrangement can be adapted to existing systems as it requires no extra lines to be installed.
