Continuously fed plant producing rolls of chain link wire netting - improves compaction by cranking and twisting loop in end loop of wire joint

The plant converts a feed (A) of chain-link wire netting into rolls achieving extra compaction by modifying end loop wire couplings at the intake (1). The coupling joins the ends of two adjacent inter-woven undulating wires, a punch and die being used to both twist and crank one loop and increase permitted joint rotation. An ascending bar (2) raised by a counterweight (2a) effects the lifting and accumulation of the continuous feed during unloading stops. Articulated fingers (4) on reciprocating arms (3) connected to oscillating rods (14) fold successive wires on top of one another accordion fashion, co-operating with ramps (5,6) between which wire undulations are introduced.
