Measurement appts. for three=dimensional objects e.g. sculptures - has feelers mounted on carriage rotating and sliding in mutually orthogonal axes by electric motor to supply signals to processor
The appts. contains a structure (1) which supports a carriage (6) moving longitudinally along an axis (X). A sensor measures the carriage displacement. A slide fitted onto the carriage (6) moves longitudinally along an axis (Y) normal to the first axis (X), and its displacement is measured by another sensor. A contact detecting sensing rod (29) is fixed onto the slide. The object to be measured is fixed to a support (52) which rotates around an axis (Z) parallel to the first (X). A sensor measures this rotation. The three movements are controlled by motors. The signals from three sensors and the sensing rod are input into a processor. The carriage can be raised by an assembly which carries a guide and is connected to an endless screw drive driven by an electric motor.
