The boiler consists of a combustion chamber (16) which is encircled by a water chamber, a firing opening and an air intake being placed at the front of the boiler. An outlet pipe (9) for flue gases is disposed at the back of the boiler. A second burner (14) is mounted above a primary combustion air pipe (7). A channel is provided that leads the flue gases under a dividing plate (2) back into a flue duct (8) and then out through the flue outlet pipe (9). A secondary air pipe (4) is placed in the flue duct (8) under the dividing plate, with a catalyst (5) placed around the secondary air pipe for reducing the ignition point of carbon monoxide gases.
