The electric motor has the brush carriers fitted with a mechanism to allow the brushes to be placed at an angle of plus or minus theta from the radial, to increase the electrical contact obtained with an inclined brush to be retained with reversible motors. The brush carrier (20) is formed of two half shells (41,42) assembled to form a box (40) and each having in its interior a pair of ramps (411,421). The ramps (411) of one of the pairs is placed face-to-face and parallel to the ramps of the other pair. The brush carrier has a collar (45) which fits into a slot in the motor frame. The brush (23) is placed in a sleeve (22) which contains a spring (24), forcing the brush (23) towards the outside of the sleeve. The sleeve has tongues (47,48) which fit over the edges of the ramps, holding the brush at one angle or the other against one ramp or the other.
