The procedure for drying flue gas and increasing the draught of firing installations involves cooling the gas leaving the installation below its dew point in a first heat exchanger and extracting the moisture and impurities. In a second heat exchanger it is then reheated sufficiently for its inherent buoyancy to generate a natural draught in the chimney. Water used as coolant in the first exchanger circulates wholly or partially through the second. It may additionally serve a further exchanger heating water for industrial use.
