The rectangular waveguide (6) has a slot (7) along a lower wall. The waveguide wall is folded each side of the slot to form a neck flange (13) to isolate the internal field by screening. The internal dimension of the wall if greater than a half wavelength. The interior of the waveguide is filled with dielectric form (16) except for a U shaped section over the slot. This section is formed by a plastic profiled element (15). A coupling element (9) with a loop antenna (8) is inserted into the slot. An arrester sleeve (14) on the coupling element prevents propagation onto the antenna conductor. The antenna provides for transmission and reception and remains fixed while the waveguide rotates as a rotating structure is rotated.
