Adaptor to convert petrol aero engine to gas fuel - uses regulated gas supply pre-heated and mixed with cold air in proportion controlled by motor driven vane

The adaptor comprises a pressurised gas reservoir (3) linked thorugh a solenoid valve (4) to an expansion chamber (5) supplying a gas diffuser (8). The latter is mounted immediately before the inlet of the conventional carburettor for the engine. The gas in the expansion chamber (5) is re-heated and passed to a mixing chamber (11) where it is mixed with incoming cold air. The relative proportions of hot and cold air are regulated by a vane (22) placed between the hot and cold air inlets. The vane is positioned by a reversible electric motor (20) which can be driven under control of a control device (27) mounted on the dash board (35). The adaptor is intended for use on light aircraft, helicopters, etc.
