The reel for winding a small coil of wire comprises a flanged spool with a projecting axle at each end which fits in the chuck of an electric drill. The centre of the spool has a tapering shape to facilitate removal of the coil, and the flange at the smaller end is removable. The spool is mounted on a spring in a recess in the fixed flange at the larger end of the centre. The centre may be depressed into the fixed flange, to break the grip of the coil on the centre after removal of the outer flange.
