Anchor bolts for ceramic fibre furnace linings - esp. for petrochemical furnaces, using steel bars which pass through lining and carry locking washers holding lining on furnace wall

The anchors consist of bars fixed to a furnace wall; and one or more layers or mats made of ceramic fibre are pushed over the bars. Each bar is provided with lugs; and a slotted retaining washer is pushed over the lugs and rotated, e.g. through 90 deg. so the lugs and slots mate, thus locking the washer on the bar. The lugs are pref. formed on the bars by mechanical work or drawing to form two rows of oval or semicircular lugs or "ears". Clamping plates are pref. also used between each ceramic fibre mat on the anchor bars. The lining is securely clamped on a furnace wall or roof.
