Wall or ceiling lining panels of laminated plastic sheet a few mm thick are supported either in tension by use of suitable peripheral clips mounted on a supporting framework or are supported in compression by opposing borders braced as a distance shorter than the corresponding dimension of the sheet, so that the sheet adopts a curved profile to bridge the gap. Allows the sheet dimensions to respond to variations of ambient temp. or humidity without being stressed by differential responses of other materials: avoids the effects of such stress on panels bonded directly to supporting structures with a common interfacial major face. Pref. tensioned supports involves use of coil or concave leaf spring profiles. Used for panels used as reflectors, the form of the curvature may be controlled by the shape of adjacent framework or hanger bars.
