A processing unit is connected to a RAM and ROM which contains parameters for a partic. process installation. It also contains data for partic. events and also control data. A clock contains time and date information and provides sequencing of operations at precise time instances. A power supply provides normal power and also a reserve power when the mains supply is cut off. Input and output units permit exchange of data between the safety and identification system and external systems for process control. These units allow transfer of digital or analogue information. A keyboard and display allow data in the memory to be generated and modified. An alarm signals that the process data is different to demand values introduced into the memory for various stages in a controlled process.
