The tie consists of a metal strip 1 having one end portion 2 to be bent up for connection with the timber work, the other end portion 3 with an indented surface 5 to key with the brickwork mortar, and centre bridging portion 4 with transverse ridge(s) and/or groove(s) 5, 6, 7 to block moisture travel along the strip and across the wall cavity.
