DEVICE FOR PREVENTING DENITRIFYING RATIO FROM BEING LOWERED DUE TO LEAK GAS IN DENITRIFIER

PURPOSE:To effectively prevent denitrifying ratio from being lowered due to the leak of gas, by providing a packed layer consisting of inorganic fibers at an upper end part of each vertical space formed between adjacent catalyst block stacks. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of catalyst blocks 21 are provided astride adjacent supporting members 22 to form a plurality of block stacks 24 through the vertical spaces 23 therebetween. The packed layer 25 consisting of inorganic fibers is provided at an upper end part of each of the vertical spaces 23 in the condition of being fixed astride the adjacent block stacks 24. With the packed layers 25 provided, the pressure in the vertical spaces 23 is raised by an amount corresponding to the gas passage resistance of the packed layers 25. At lower parts of the spaces 23, the quantity of the leak of gas C flowing out from the catalyst blocks 21 is reduced, while at upper parts of the spaces, the internal pressure of the blocks becomes lower than the pressure in the spaces 23, so that an exhaust gas D flows again into the catalyst blocks 21.
