FERRITE STAINLESS STEEL WITH SUPERIOR STRESS CORROSION CRACKING RESISTANCE IN ENVIRONMENT OF HOT PURE WATER

摘要

PURPOSE:To enhance the stress corrosion cracking resistance in environment of hot pure water by combinedly adding a prescribed amount of C, N, Si, Cr, etc. and further adding a prescribed amount of one or more among Ti, Nb and Ta. CONSTITUTION:This stainless steel consists of =0.04% C+N, =1% Si, =1% Mn, 12-16% Cr, 0.01-0.15 Al and the balance Fe and further contains =1.5% in total of onr or more among Ti, Nb and Ta while satisfying equation (Ti+Nb+ 0.5Ta)/(C+N)=12. Since this steel does not cause stress corrosion cracking, it is very effective as a material for a device, an apparatus, etc. handling hot pure water.
