RECYCLING PLUG FEEDER FOR MANNESMANN PLUG MILL

PURPOSE:To inspect whole surface of the plug, and always recycle the flawless plug, by combining the receiving-and-transferring device, inspection device, the first and the second receiving-and- transferring devices, with the distributor and the takeout for the plug. CONSTITUTION:The plug 8, after finishing a rolling work in the seamless steel pipe manufacturing plug mill, is put in the cavity 1b of the rotary drum 1; when the plug 8 comes to the position 1d, the plug 8 is transferred onto the subarm 13 through the takeout arm 5. The main and subarms 10, 13, are turned around to the chain-lined position, and the plug 8 is transferred onto the roller of the inspection table 16; where the inspector visually inspects whole surface of the plug 8 while it is turned around, in order to inspect the existence of flaws. If the plug 8 is flawless, the inspection table 16 is inverted to the side of the receiving table 20, in order to transfer the plug 8 onto the table 20; and the table 20 is inverted to the side of the drum 1, and the plug 8 is transferred into the cavity 1e made already 1/5 turn and being vacant. Then, this plug 8 is sent out to the mill through the trough 2. If the plug 8 is a flawed one, it is transferred onto the table 20, this table 20 and another receiving table already prepared with a spare plug on it, are moved, and the flawed plug 8 is transferred onto the discharging table; and then, the spare plug is put in the cavity 1e similarly to the above-mentioned process.
