PURPOSE:To presume field magnetic flux by obtaining the presumed value of a field magnetic flux from the measured field voltage value and the measured air gap magnetic flux linear axis value, and correcting the presumed value in response to the difference between the values obtained from the air gap magnetic flux linear axis component and the measured field current value. CONSTITUTION:A field voltage Vfd and an air gap magnetic flux linear axis component phiad are inputted to the first calculating block 1, and the presumed value phi'' of the field magnetic flux is obtained in accordance with the state equation for simulating the dynamic characteristic of the field magnetic flux of the generator. The air gap magnetic flux linear axis component phiad and the field current ifd are inputted to the second calculating block 2, thereby obtaining the phi'fd, the value and the phi''fd are applied to the third calculating block 3, the gain K is multiplied by the deviation of the values obtained by the blocks 1, 2 to obtain a correction value L, and fed to the block 1. Accordingly, the field magnetic flux is presumed from the other amount which is readily measured to obtain the presumed value having high reliability, thereby effectively utilizing it for controlling the generator.
