PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance the strength, the fatigue resistance, the entire surface corrosion resistance and etching resistance of an amorphous iron alloy, by containing Cr, P, C, Ni and Fe in a predetermined ratio. CONSTITUTION:The titled amorphous iron alloy consists of, on an atomic % basis, 1-40% Cr, 7-35% one or both of P and C, 0.01-40% Ni and the remainder of Fe. The amorphous iron alloy obtained by quenching and solidifying the molten alloy having said composition is high in strength and excellent in fatigue resistance, entire surface corrosion resistance, etching resistance, gap corrosion resistance, stress corrosion cracking resistance and hydrogen brittleness resistance.
