PURPOSE:To reproduce and test accurately and efficiently the deterioration phenomenon by the oil of a high polymer material such as rubber by oxidizing an oil to deteriorate the same. CONSTITUTION:A required amt. of an oil O is stored in a vessel 7 until the open end 9 of a supply pipe 8 is thoroughly concealed therein. Sample pieces 17 consisting of rubber, etc. are put at a rate of 12 pieces for 500ml oil are put in the vessel to immerse the sample pieces 17 in the oil O. While the inside and outside of the vessel 7 are kept at 120 deg.C by a thermostatic chamber 6, oxygen or air is blown continuously through the pipe 8 into the oil O in the vessel 7 to oxidize and deteriorate the oil O. The deterioration phenomenon of hardening and cracking a high polymer material such as rubber, plastics or the like by the oil is accurately and efficiently reproduced by the above-mentioned method, whereby the exact investigation of the influence of the deteriorated oil on the high polymer material is made possible.
