PURPOSE:To measure the hydrogen bond strength and intermolecular force of material by bringing two detection electrode into contact respectively with a sample, transmitting the ultrasonic wave of a required frequency to the sample to oscillate the same, generating the potential difference corresponding to the transfer of the electric charge generated by ultrasonic induction and measuring the potential difference. CONSTITUTION:The cut piece of a solid sample is placed on sample supports A1, A2 in the case of a solid sample, and one end thereof is adhered to an oscillator via a spacer D to transmit an ultrasonic wave to the solid sample S1. The tips of needle-shaped detection electrodes C1, C2 are brought into press contact with the sample S1, and a load resistance is mounted between both electrodes. The voltage generated by the current flowing through the load resistance is measured. In the case of a liquid sample, a sample vessel contg. the liquid sample S2 is placed on a sample stand E and is adhered through the spacer D on an oscillator B. Detection electrodes C3, C4 made of platinum in a circular shape are put in the vessel A, and the load resistor is mounted between both electrodes, the transfer of the electric charge flowing in the load resistor is measured with a voltmeter.
