PURPOSE:To discharge continuously suspending or remaining molten slag to the outside of a vessel by inserting a revolving shaft having a spiral slag-off plate into the vessel in prallel with the plane of the molten slag and dipping and rotating a part of the slag-off plate in the molten slag layer. CONSTITUTION:A mixer car contg. a large amt. of molten slag 7 suspended on molten iron 9 arrives at a slag-off yard and begins to tilt gently around a tilting shaft 1 and is so set that the bottom end face 12 of a receiving port 5 is positioned flush with the surface of the molten slag layer. A revolving shaft 11 having a spiral slag-off plate 10 is inserted into the mixer car roughly in parallel with the molten slag plane through the port 5, whereafter a part of the plate 10 is dipped in the molten slag layer 7 and the shaft 11 is rotated at a high speed. The plate 10 provides the effect similar to the effect of a screw conveyor, and the molten slag suspended on the molten iron 9 is discharged to the outside of the mixer car.
