KANJI (CHINESE CHARACTER) INPUT METHOD TO COMPUTER

PURPOSE:To feed the desired KANJI to a computer with a small number of characters, by sorting the KANJI into left-hand and right-hand radicals and then feeding them individually. CONSTITUTION:The KANJI is sorted into left-hand and right-hand radicals and other characters and registered in a KANJI table 1. The characters shown by 5, 6 and 7 are displayed on a screen of a CRT8 which is displayed in 16X16 dots. In this example, a left-hand radical shown by 2 is fed to 2-1 on 11-16X16 dots from the tablet 1. Then a right-hand radical shown by 3 is fed to 3-1 on 1-10X16 dots, and the input is through by two inputs with a character shown by 4. The character 3 is displayed in 3-2 on 16X 16 dots if it has a meaning. The KANJI having a crown part like the character 4 and other KANJI which is unnatural for sorting are displayed in 4-1 on 16X16 dots in HIRAGANA (Japanese syllabary), KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary), figures, marks, etc. Thus KANJI can be coordinated to 1,600 characters in all including about 100 characters of left-hand radicals, about 150 characters of right-hand radicals and about 1,350 characters of KATAKANA, HIRAGANA, figures, marks and others. Thus the number of characters is reduced compared with about 3,000 conventional characters. This method facilitates handling and also reduce the cost.
