PURPOSE:To display an output forecasting time, by referring to an output device table, operating a time required for an output, and displaying a result of its operation on a display. CONSTITUTION:An output device control part finds out an output request by accessing a recording part 6. As a result, an output data store destination address of its external storage device 3 is detected, and an output to a line printer device 11 is executed. An operating part 9 monitors an output request corresponding to each line printer device in the recording part 6. A printing time required for one line of each line printer device and a feed time required for feeding one page are stored in an output device table 7. In this state, when the output request is detected as a result of this monitoring, a speed corresponding to the line printer is read out from the output device table 7. Subsequently, the sum of the product of the number of output lines and the printing time, and the product of the number of output pages and the feed time is derived, and its result is displayed 10.
