DRIVING DEVICE OF UPPER AND LOWER PLATEN OF RESIN THERMOFORMER

PURPOSE:To reduce energy loss and to make possible continuous high speed thermoforming by rotating an electric servomotor in one direction and performing a synchronized operation between an upper and a lower platens. CONSTITUTION:Each of electric servomotors 16, 22 is rotated in one direction, the rotary motions of crank plates 19, 25 are converted to the reciprocating motions of connecting rods, opening and closing of molds are controlled by a synchronized vertical motion between the upper platen 8 and the lower platen 10 to conduct thermoforming processing on a resin sheet C transferred intermittently. Since the rotation of the motors of both platens 8, 10 is converted to vertical motion by the wave form curve, smooth motion is obtained and the electric servomotors 6, 22 can control rotary speed as desired by the prescribed signal etc. The wave curves of the upper platen 8 and the lower platen 10 and, especially, the duration time of mold closing can be adjusted uniformly at every cycle.
