PURPOSE:To provide a spiral-electrode nonaqueous solvent battery having an excellent heavy load discharge characteristic by decreasing the thickness and increasing the surface area of the positive and the negative electrodes by interposing porous conductive thin films between the electrodes and electrolyte-holding members before the stacked body is rolled. CONSTITUTION:Thin conductive films 12 and 16 having many penetrating holes and made of metallic foil, thin carbon film or the like are placed between a belt- like positive electrode 13, a belt-like light-metal negative electrode 15 and electrolyte-holding members 11, 14, 17. Next, the stacked body is rolled into spiral form before the rolled body is installed in a case, followed by sealing the case, thereby constituting a spiral-electrode nonaqueous solvent battery containing a nonaqueous solvent as electrolyte. In this battery, the electrodes 13 and 15 are given current collecting effect by bringing the thin films 12 and 16 into close contact with the electrodes 13 and 15. Accordingly, there is no need for a current collector to be fixed to or buried in the electrode, and the thickness of the electrode can be decreased and its surface area can be increased.
