PURPOSE:To provide a Ti-Cr-Mn base alloy for hydrogen occlusion reduced in the hysteresis of hydrogen occlusion and releasing pressure, by blending Ti, Cr and Mn in a specific atomic ratio to facilitate activation due to hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:A Ti-Cr-Mn base hydrogen sorbing alloy is shown by general formula Ti1+xCr2-yMny (wherein x is more than 0-0.4, y is more than 0-1). This alloy is prepared by an arc welding method and used in a powder form. In addition, this hydrogen occluding alloy can be easily activated and rapidly sorbs and releases a large amount of hydrogen at a relatively low temp. and pressure after activation.
