The motor comprises several motive-power units mounted on a shared shaft with a collector. Each unit has a stator and a rotor. Each stator has electromagnets distributed uniformly around its periphery. Each electromagnet comprises coaxial primary and secondary windings. The electromagnets are connected together into groups so that within any group corresponding windings are in series. Each rotor also has electromagnets distributed uniformly around its periperhy and each comprising coaxial primary and secondary windings. The rotor's electromagnets are also in groups, each group with its windings in series, but the number of groups differs from those of the stator. The primaries of both stator and rotor are coupled to an ac. voltage. The rotors are attached to the shared shaft at given angular spacings.
