The barking sound reproducing apparatus includes a relay switch which is operated when the door-bell pushbutton is activated, or when a detector senses the presence or movement of a person. The detector is supplied with current from a rectifier. The relay applies a voltage to a tape recorder in order to replay a prerecorded tape of barking or other burglar or intruder deterrent noise. The tape is a continuous loop long enough to give a variety of sound, and is run for a timed interval after activation.
