The vocal exercise aid is for use by singers and speakers to achieve a good tone. It has two parallel plates (1,2) connected by rods (3) attached by pins (4,5). Bars (6) are pivotably fitted on the outside of the rods, and a pin (8) at the end of each bar slides along a groove (9) in one of the plates. A control knob (30) which may be incorporated in the pivot-pin, is rotated to move the rods, so altering the relative position of the plates. - When the device is in the open position, the mouth is wide open and the lower jaw pushed back, representing the correct position for a good tone. The device does not constrict the jaws or restrict breathing and may be operated by the practising singer himself and adjusted as progress is made.(3)
