The emergency escape ladder (1) is intended for securing e.g. in a window frame, in the event of fire, to provide an exit before arrival of assistance. It comprises at least two fire-resistant cables (2) carrying flat steps (3) at regular intervals. - The ladder pref. comprises two pairs of cables secured to each rectangular step near its corners by cable clamps or coupling tubes. The upper ends of these cables may be secured to a rod (4) which is parallel to the steps and is telescopically extendable to a length exceeding the width of a window frame. FL(2/6)
