The core has three vertical limbs, with two yokes crossing the tops and bottoms of the limbs. The limbs and yokes have approx. equal cross-sectional areas. The primary and secondary windings for each phase are both wound on a single limb. - Vertical magnetic shunts, in line with, and consisting of similar laminated plate as, the limbs, straddle the outsides of the outer windings. The shunt cross-sectional area is between 50% and 80% of that of the limbs.
