Some (1) of the key switches on this cash register keyboard are used to enter numerals to register prices. Other keys (2) are used to identify different product groups. On top of each switch is a rectangular, plastics material plate (8). The plate covers the switch top and an adjacent legend area. - The area (9) over the switch is colour-coded, while that (8') over the legend area is transparent. Strips of paper (4) carrying pre-printed legends can be inserted in a groove (6), which passes under a complete horizontal row of keys.
