A device for controlling in a need based programmed manner the relative movement between a fault-corrector (with no directional bias) and a plurality of units performing identical functions in a machine, described and claimed in the specification of our Indian patent no. 146249, wherein the signal transfer means comprises a plurality of blocks each of the blocks being mounted on each of the said units, the blocks associated with the extreme end units each containing an electromagnet or permanent magnet and the blocks associated with the intermediate units each containing a pair of electromagnets each being isolated and away from the ether, the electromagnet if contained in the block associated with one extreme end unit and one of the electromagnets contained in each of the blocks associated with the intermediate units being connected to one set of isolated outputs of a set of logical elements of the said central processing means and the electromagnet if contained in the block associated with the other extreme end unit and the other electromagnet contained in each of the blocks associated with the intermediate units being connected to another set of isolated outputs of another set of logical elements of the said central processing means; and a pair of reed switches located in the said fault-corrector, one reed switch being away from the other reed switch and at the same level and facing the electromagnet or permanent magnet contained in the block associated with the said one extreme end unit and the said one of the electromagnets contained in each of the blocks associated with the intermediate units and the other reed switch being at the same level and facing the electromagnet or permanent magnet contained in the block associated with the said other extreme end unit and the said other electromagnet contained in each of the blocks associated with the intermediate units.
