Boiler with fluidised bed combustion - has coal distributors discharging only into bed section above main air chamber

The boiler, typically coal-fired, has a fluidised-bed combustion system. A main (2) and several control air (4) chambers under the bed (2) are connected to the combustion air supply system. At the bed there are a number of coal-distributors (6) connected to a feed system. A grate plate between bed and air chambers has a number of combustion air supply holes and the bed contains a set of pipes through which a heat-absorbent medium flows. The bed above the air chambers is an undivided one and the distributors discharge only into or above the main section of it situated above the main air chamber.
