The accessory is intended for checking the blood alcohol content with reference to the time elapsed since taking the first alcoholic drink, the number of drinks consumed, and the body weight. It is based on the assumption that approximately equal amounts of alcohol are contained in drinks of different strengths and that the breakdown rate is a standard function of body weight. It comprises two elements, e.g. a sleeve containing a disc rotatable to show one of a number of sets of figures in a window of the sleeve. By the side of the window, the sleeve shows elapsed times whilst each radial set of figures shows body weight (e.g. 65 kg), number of drinks consumed, and parts per thousand (e.g. 1.25-0.20) blood alcohol content related to the respective elapsed times. Used for self-monitoring blood alcohol content to determine legal fitness for driving. The accessory is a useful aid in avoiding driving with blood alcohol above the legal limit.
