Lightweight mortar for building material - made by mixing aq. cement slurry with fly ash and polystyrene granules

A mortar for making building materials is made by (a) intimately dry mixing a cement with a high insulation value and a powdered water binder, (b) adding water to the mixt. in a wt. ratio of 0.3-0.5 to produce a slurry-like material and (c) adding granular fillers of low specific gravity and high insulation value to the slurry in a vol. ratio filler/slurry of at least 3:1. Pref. at least two different sorts of filler are added having different particle sizes, esp. where two fillers are used, the first filler being sintered fly ash granules with a particle size of greater than 3 mm and the second filler being polystyrene granules with a max. dia. of 3mm.
