The (hingeable) insulating window shutter comprises a layer of insulating material, e.g. foam plastic, sandwiched between two layers of plastic or wood secured by adhesive. This sandwich panel is pref. sealingly secured in a frame consisting of four hollow sectional aluminium frame members of which the adjoining ends are secured together by corner connectors engaging the respective cavities. The sections pref. have a portion to receive a sectional rubber sealing strip which seals and clamps the sections on the panel and acts as seal on the window frame.
