The machine is for cutting and collecting peat for fuel, and fits onto a vehicle. It has a screw (6) which extends down into the peat to cut it in a track-form section. The collection unit (6-10) upper end is connected to a feed-out pipe (11) which (under the effect of a drive) pivots stage-wise in the horizontal plane. A cutter (17) is arranged at the feed-out pipe mouth to divide up the peat flow at the commencement of each pivot stage.
