The vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft wing is a hybrid between a cylinder rotating in a fluid current to obtain lifting force in accordance with the Magnus effect, and a conventional wing. The wing is not a cylinder but a body with wing profile, of which only the surface rotates against the fluid flow. - Inside the wing are gear wheels around which a toothed belt runs to provide the moving surface.
