A reversible liquid/solid phase change compositions comprising hydrated MgCl2 or Mg(NO3/MgCl2 and one or more of Ba(OH)2, Sr(OH)2, CaO, SrCO3, BaO, Ca(OH)2, Mg(OH)2, MgO, Na3AlF6 or CaC2O4, added to the compositions in an effective amount to suppress supercooling of the liquid phase of the compositions.
