Method for Manufacturing a packaging material with sealing Properties to gases.A continuous strip of paper or cardboard is coated on its surface with a Calcium compound and then applies, at least along one of its sides, a layer of an aqueous solution containing by weight 2 to 10 Poly (Vinyl alcohol) with a higher degree of hydrolization to 80, Weight of 0.1 to 2 as a Thickener Carboxymethylcellulose or Alginate, and 0.1 to 1 by weight of a primer, such as polyethylenimine. The Water content is reduced in weight by 10, by heating the solution to boil. The resulting emulsion layer is coated with a thin layer of extruded polyolefin, preferably polyethylene.
